STUDENTS from Heart of Worcestershire College will be taking to the stage at the Artrix later this month with their own production of the Wedding Singer.

Based on the Adam Sandler romantic comedy of the same name and set in the 1980s, the play which has been rewritten as a musical, tells the story of wedding singer Robbie Heart who is jilted at the altar and finds it difficult to get into the right mood for his job, until he meets Julia, who is trying to plan her own wedding.

The show has been put together by performing arts students from HoW College as their end of year musical, with a score than pays homage to the pop songs of the 1980s.

The Wedding Singer is being performed on May 11 and 12 at the Artrix with an additional matinee performance on May 12. Tickets are £10 or £8 for concessions and can be purchased from the Artrix box office on 01527 577330 or at artrix.co.uk.
