A WORCESTER man who stole alcohol from a shop and threatened staff has been banned from the city centre.

Ben Kreisler, of Tolladine Road, was given a criminal behaviour order (CBO) at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Monday, April 25.

The order will run for two years and means he is banned from entering Crowngate Shopping Centre, Broad Street and Black Horse Walk, as well as using the public toilets other than for their intended use.

Kreisler is allowed to enter the bus station, but he is prohibited from causing alarm, distress, or harassing members of the public by swearing, approaching people and making verbal or physical threats.

He also has been ordered not to consume or be in possession of an open container of alcohol, in areas where it is not allowed.

Sergeant Carl Jones said: "Kreisler has an extensive history of committing anti-social behaviour and his actions on March 11 demonstrate this.

"Not only did he try to steal alcohol but he also made staff fear for their own safety with his threatening behaviour.

"This CBO is in place to protect the community and those visiting the city and I hope this demonstrates how seriously West Mercia Police takes offences such as this."
