LUDLOW Chamber of Trade and Commerce has been showing businesses in the town the different ways in which it is hoped to attract more visitors.

The town’s very first UPLOAD Event was hosted by Muff Murfin, the Chair of Ludlow Chamber of Trade and Commerce at Ludlow Castle.

This allowed Ludlow’s businesses and organisations associated with the visitors to share the latest on a number exciting new projects for the town.

The Mayor, Paul Draper, gave a sneak preview of the Buttercross Museum and Tish Dockerty, Secretary of Ludlow Chamber, launched the new Ludlow Destination Partnership, a coming together of key bodies including the Town Council to improve Ludlow’s visitor offer.

There was also a presentation of the new look ‘3 Weeks in Ludlow’ Festival which incorporates The Ludlow Fringe , St Laurence’s Arts Festival and Rooftop’s Shakespeare at Ludlow Brewery, with updates from the Ludlow Assembly Rooms and the new hand at the helm of Ludlow Food Festival, Lindsay Rollings.

“It was a great opportunity to upload the latest news and information that affect all businesses in the town.

“However small they all, we all contribute to make an outstanding offer to visitors, but we want to do more and work more cohesively with all members and partners. Sadly, what with cut-backs, we no longer have much support for Tourism from Shropshire Council so it’s in our interests to get on and rally together.”

The event was be followed by Ludlow Chamber’s Annual General Meeting, with all welcome to attend.

Ludlow Chamber of Commerce is a constituted group with the aim to ‘improve and secure the trading and commercial interests of Ludlow and neighbouring district.’

They will be said a big thank you to David Hill of Whittingham Riddell (formally of Sykes and Co.) who has been Treasurer for over 25 years and is retiring this summer.
