MOTORISTS have been warned that two Dudley roads will be temporarily closed next month.

Following the extensive sewer repair works that took place earlier in the year, Flood Street will be closed on October 10 and 11 to carry out carriageway reinstatement works.

Traffic will be diverted along New Mill Street, King Street and vice-versa.

Saltwells Road will also be shut near its junction with Saltwells Lane from Saturday, October 22 to Tuesday, October 25 while Stave-Con Ltd carry out drainage works.

A diversion route will be in place along Cradley Road, Foxoat Street, Lower High Street, Forge Lane, High Street, Coppice Lane and vice-versa.

Following the closure, temporary signals may be in operation for the remainder of the week or until the work is completed.

During this time, access to frontages will be maintained, where safe to do so.

Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environmental services, said: “As an authority we work closely with companies to enable them to come into the borough and carry out essential works but we do insist they carry out these works as quickly as possible with minimum disruption to our motorists and residents.”
