SUPERSTAR singer Olly Murs will perform an open air concert in Worcester next summer.

The singer, famed for tracks including 'Troublemaker', will play at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, in New Road, on Sunday, June 25.

The gig forms part of his 22-date Summer Tour 2017 and tickets go on sale today at 9am.

The celebrity, who rose to fame on X Factor in 2009, said: "I am thrilled to play outdoors at Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

"Outdoor shows are so much fun and I am looking forward to performing my biggest songs on my biggest outdoor tour!"

This year the singer achieved his fourth successive No.1 album - titled 24 HRS - making him the most successful solo artist to come from the X Factor.

The announcement follows the recent news that multi-million selling singer Bryan Adams will perform at Sixways Stadium in July next year.

Jon Graham, managing director of Worcestershire County Cricket Club, said: "We are delighted that an artist of the stature of Olly Murs is coming to New Road in 2017, it’s a major coup for the club.

"To get the opportunity to stage a concert involving the current number one selling artist, someone who is incredibly popular and an unbelievable showman is brilliant news and amazing profile for our ever-growing events side of the business."

Liz Doogan-Hobbs MBE, chief executive officer of LHG Live, the promoter, said: "We are delighted to be working with Olly Murs on his UK Summer Tour!

"Olly is one of the best male solo artists in the UK and the perfect artist for our venues.

"We expect each show to have a great party atmosphere and look forward to hearing his most popular hits."
