MEMBERS of the Redditch and Bromsgrove Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets have scooped an array of accolades this May.

Marine Cadet second class (MC2) Kyan Hopkins and MC2 Alex Ludlow retained their title of District Paddlesports Champions on May 22, having won the national competition last year.

Ordinary cadet Daniel Beardshaw and MC2 Jack Ryan were then selected as the Mayors Cadets for 2017/18 on May 22 and will assist the Mayor of Redditch with formal duties.

Commanding Officer of the Sea Cadets, Sub Lieutenant (SCC) James Sanders, of the Royal Naval Reserve, said: “Our unit is growing, and continuing to achieve great things.

“We are honoured to again be the Mayors cadet force, and retain our sporting titles.

“We are looking to grow in numbers this year and help other young people locally achieve great things.”

Redditch and Bromsgrove Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets are currently recruiting for young people aged between 12 and 18, and for volunteers aged 18 plus.
