A TENACIOUS businesswoman in Rubery is fundraising to dive 12,000 feet from a plane in support of children fighting cancer.

Amy Joynes' store Amy's Floral Designs was one of several businesses at Father's Barn arcade to be devastated by two fires and a burglary this year, but Amy is still eager to 'give something back'.

She said: "As people probably know, we have come through quite a lot over the last few months, but I'd like something positive to come out of this, so I decided I would jump out of a plane for this amazing cause."

The 31-year-old florist developed a phobia of heights after giving birth to her 3rd child, but is confident Lennox Children's Cancer Fund will be enough incentive to take the plunge.

The charity offers practical, financial and emotional support to children and families affected by cancer or leukaemia.

Amy needs to raise £350 to sign up to the tandem skydive but is hoping to collect £1,000 before the event.
