A FAMILY fun day helped raise thousands of pounds for a Dodford children’s charity.
Dodford Children’s Holiday Farm on Warbage Lane held the event on Wednesday, July 20, to help raise almost £1400 for the charity.
Visitors were treated to a BBQ, cream teas, stalls, and a country dancing display by pupils from Millfields First School, while children also had the chance to meet the farm’s donkeys, ponies, sheep, chickens and rabbits.
Kelly Broadfield, manager at Dodford Children’s Farm, said: “We were really pleased with how the day went and we managed to raise almost £1400.
“The charity rely largely on donations and income from school visits, so we hope this family fun day helped to raise awareness of the farm and how we give disadvantaged and disabled children a taste of the countryside.”
The Holiday Farm offers holidays and short breaks to underprivileged children and those who are disabled or have special needs.
Money raised will help fund the general running costs such as animal food and utility bills.
