FOOTY fans can help score a goal for charity by backing a football match in aid of the Primrose Hospice and Cancer Research UK.

Meadow Park Youth take on Jamma's Ageing Rock Stars in a charity match at Meadow Park FC at LG Harris on Hanbury Road, Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove, on Saturday, July 29, from 2.30pm.

Visitors are being invited to come along and watch, with hot drinks, food, and a barbecue also available.

Players and officials have donated £5 to play, while spectators are asked to donate £3 on the day.

All money raised will be split between the two charities.

The game will be also followed by a penalty shoot out with 50 per cent of the entry fee paid to the winner and the balance going to the charities.

Organiser Ken Symonds, who is taking part with his sons Xavier and Wills, said: “Every family is touched by cancer in one way or another and this is our contribution, doing what we love, to support not only financially, but to increase awareness, in order that more lives can be saved in the future."

The match has already raised more than £400 with organisers hoping to hit the £1000 mark.
