FROM coding clubs to magic shows, virtual reality sessions to messy crafts, there is plenty to do at libraries across Sandwell this summer.

Every library will be running craft and story sessions for children and there are special events too for all the family.

Some of the activities taking place at Oldbury’s libraries include Rob Lock’s Martial Arts Experience, which will be at Bleakhouse Library on Monday, August 14, from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.

Popular author Dwarnnay Mills will be at Oldbury Library for the ‘No Need to Shout’ event on Saturday, August 19, from 11am until noon, while fans of Disney princesses can meet Beauty and the Beast’s Belle at Rounds Green Library on Monday, August 21, from 11am to noon.

Councillor Richard Marshall, Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for leisure, said: “Our libraries are fantastic community hubs and there's so much going on in them over the summer, as there is all year round.

“Check out all the great activities and don't forget there's also the Summer Reading Challenge for four to 11-year-olds to become Animal Agents and crack a case at their local library.”
