A CHILDREN’S charity is calling for donations as it launches a brand new charity shop in Kidderminster.
Acorns Children’s Hospice is holding a Declutter Day at 23 High Street on Friday (October 20), an opportunity for members of the public to offload preloved items and help stock-up the shop ready for its opening.
All good quality clothing, toys, bric-a-brac, books, DVDs and vinyl will be accepted for the shop, which will be officially opened by the Mayor of Kidderminster, Councillor Nicky Gale on Wednesday, October 25.
Val Hammond, Retail General Manager at Acorns, said: “Everything we sell in the shop will go back to Acorns and our vital care for children and support for their families across Kidderminster, so I really hope people get behind us and help make this the best shop it possibly can be.
“This is a great opportunity to have a rummage through cupboards or root through the loft. We’ll gladly take any preloved items off your hands.”
As well as the Declutter Day, Acorns is holding an open day at the same location next Wednesday (October 18) from 10am, for people interested in becoming volunteers in the new shop.
Val added: “Acorns relies on donations and income from our shops to meet the £10 million it costs to provide our services, so whether you donate, volunteer or shop with us, you are making a real difference.”
