TALENTED young performers from across Wyre Forest are being invited to strut their stuff on stage in a talent contest to support a charity.

Mentor Link’s ‘Who’s Got Talent’ returns following the success of last year’s event with auditions set to be held at Stourport Workmen’s Club on Saturday, May 5 from 10am to 3pm.

The competition, won last year by singer songwriter Ellisha Green, is open to children who will be aged under 16 when the final takes place at The Gainsborough Hotel on Sunday, September 16. A total of 20 finalists will be chosen from the auditions.

All funds raised from the event will donated to the Stourport-based Mentor Link charity which provides support to vulnerable and distressed children and young people across the Midlands.

Youngsters with a wide range of talents including singing, dancing, magic tricks, comedy or sports skills they can show off are invited to enter.

The overall winner will be presented with a trophy, £100 cash prize, a photo shoot with All Seasons Photography and a certificate.

Two runners-up will receive a trophy while all contestants go home with a certificate.

Rachel Francis, from Mentor Link, said: “All the participants in the show last year were absolutely fantastic and were all winners in our eyes.

“The chosen Winner was singer song writer Ellisha Green who has been writing songs since she was eleven, performed songs from her debut EP ‘Platforms’ last November which received great reviews from Slap Magazine and iTunes.

“She won Wyre Forest Young Musician of the Year and has been featured on BBC introducing several times.

“Twenty talented children will be put through to the final Live Show a simple audition is all that it may take for someone’s talented child to be put through.”

Youngsters can book an appointment or just turn up on the day of the auditions. Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult and participants are asked to bring a drink and any CDs, props or backing tracks they need.

Tickets for the live final cost £6 for adults, £4 under 12s while under twos are free.
