HARRIERS have announced former Coventry and MK Dons coach Neil MacFarlane as the new manager – just hours after confirming John Eustace’s departure.

The 40-year-old Scot has returned to Aggborough, following a previous short spell at the club, having recently worked in Cyprus with Pafos alongside former Fleetwood Town manager Steven Pressley.

The former midfielder clocked up more than 250 senior career appearances north of the border including with toip flight clubs Hearts and Aberdeen.

MacFarlane began his coaching career with Falkirk six years ago and since worked with Coventry City, Fleetwood and this year MK Dons.

And he also had a brief spell at Aggborough three years ago when chairman Colin Gordon assumed control of team affairs on an interim basis.

Earlier today, the club announced John Eustace had left to link up with ex-England boss Steve McLaren at Queens Park Rangers.

Mr Gordon was delighted to welcome MacFarlane back to Aggborough and said his experience and tenacity were qualities he admired, adding he fits Harriers’ philosophy.

He said: “He’s hard working, fun and studious, with very good experience and great confidence. He’s been here before and I know the way he works.

“He fits the profile of the philosophy of what we’re looking for. He’s hard working, fun and studious, with very good experience and great confidence.

“He’s done his research and has watched a numerous amount of our games and already has his ideas on how he would like to work and how he would like to play.”
