A RETRO cafe in Rubery has become the 10th local business to sign up to a national refill scheme.
Polly Put The Kettle On, based in Rubery High Street, will now welcome passers-by to fill up their water bottles free of charge, as part of the Refill Bromsgrove initiative.
The national scheme has been driven by Bromsgrove District Council's centres manager Cheryl Welsh in a bid to reduce the use of single-use plastics.
Cheryl said: "This is great news and I am delighted at how supportive our local businesses have been.
“It’s great promotion for them and also means less plastic is being put into the already huge and not very tasty soup."
Ten businesses, including a tattoo studio in Catshill and a flooring outlet in Bromsgrove town centre, are now featured on a special app showcasing Refill Bromsgrove participants.
Businesses can sign up to the app by calling Cheryl on 07977 207718. Download it at refill.org.uk.
