DAZZLING family favourite pantomime Aladdin will be flying into Redditch's Palace Theatre for this year's panto.

Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Robin Windsor will star as the mystical Genie of the Lamp while Michael Auger from Britain’s Got Talent winning musical theatre supergroup, Collabro, takes the title role as cheeky-chappy Aladdin.

Robin said: “I am unbelievably excited to be playing Genie in Aladdin.

"He’s known for his magic, his flamboyant costumes and his larger than life personality so I can’t wait to get going and make my mark with this great character.

"With years of Strictly under my belt I’m used to OTT costumes and giving big energetic performances - I can’t wait to put on a really magical show for Redditch.”

Simon Howe returns to Redditch Palace Theatre to step into the glitzy shoes of Widow Twankey and completing the line up are Darren Clewlow-Smith as Abanazar, Louise Cannon as Aladdin’s leading lady, Princess Jasmine, Hattie Parker as the Spirit of the Ring, and Jordan Newman and Samuel Quick who, after appearing in Snow White last year, return to play the hapless Policemen.

A spokesman from the theatre said: "Don’t miss your flight! Grab your boarding card for our magic carpet ride to Old Peking for Christmas 2018. And fly down to the box office now and book your tickets today."

Aladdin runs at the Palace Theatre from December 10 to January 6 2019.
