THE Chipping Norton poppy appeal for 2017 will be launched on Saturday November 4.

Lula May will perform songs from the1940s in the town centre from 1pm.

The Royal British Legion will also be collecting in the town centre on Saturday November 11.

Collectors will be able to enjoy a free beverage at Café Nero.

On Saturday November 11 the Royal British Legion in Chipping Norton are holding the Armistice Day service at the war memorial at 10.45am. Afterwards they will be heading off to Over Norton for an act of Remembrance there.

On Sunday November 12 the legion will be assembling outside Sainsbury’s at 10.15am to march off to St Mary’s Church for a Remembrance Sunday Service.

An addition to the service this year will be a rendition of the song “No Man’s Land/The Green Fields of France”.

This will be sung by Chipping Norton School student Arianne Bennett and accompanied by her teacher Chris Brown.
