VANDALS tried to steal a cash machine from a Cotswold supermarket after reversing a vehicle into the building.
Police were called to reports of vehicles behaving suspiciously in the car park at Aldi in Stow Road, Moreton-in-Marsh which only opened in October.
They found that a vehicle had been reversed into the building and a number of panes of glass had been broken.
The offenders had then attempted to remove the free standing cash machine from the store.
A black car and a silver car were seen leaving the area towards Shipston, and police would like to hear from anyone who saw them or any other suspicious activity in the vicinity.
The incident was shortly before 2am on Saturday November 11.
The officers are investigating whether this incident is linked to any others in the county in the past week and liaising with neighbouring forces to establish whether they have similar incidents which might also be linked.
The attempted theft of a cash machine follows a host of similar raids in the area in recent times.
Three cash machines have been ripped out in nearby Bourton-on-the-Water in the last two years, whilst a cash machine was stolen from the Co-Operative in Upper Rissington.
Anyone with information, call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 or email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk quoting incident 30 of 11 November.
