10.40am UPDATE: The road has reopened, and traffic has generally returned to normal as the vehicles have been recovered.
Police are still at the scene directing vehicles, as the traffic lights are currently off.
Staff from Ringway, Worcestershire County Council Highway's contractors, are at the scene clearing up after the accident, with sections blocked off by safety barriers, including around a pelican crossing pillar, which was brought down in the crash.
Original story: A CRASH at Foregate Street/Sansome Street junction involving a bus is causing major delays in Worcester city centre this morning.
A spokesman for West Mercia Police said the crash between the bus and Audi happened at 6.40am, when the bus mounted the pavement and crashed into the railing barrier.
The bus has come to a rest on the pavement next to the B4205 Sansome Street, with a wheel on the railing next to A Plan Insurance, while the Audi is blocking the route into the road.
The emergency services including an ambulance are at the scene, and police have closed the section of Sansom Street where the crash has happened.
The police spokesman added the road is not expected to reopen until 9.30am.
