IN the Shuttle’s front page story this week (Thursday, February 8), we reported that Age UK’s highest-paid employee earned between £190,001 and £200,000 in 2016/17.

We have been asked to point out that this pay refers to the national Age UK organisation and is not the salary of any member of staff at Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest (BRWF).

The national charity operated a federated partnership model and, although Age UK BRWF is a partner, it operates as an independent charity and is responsible for generating its own funding to deliver services and support for older people in the area.

We are happy to provide clarification on this.
