A CELEBRATED long-running tribute act is rambling on to Wolverley for a night of Rock classics.

Fred Zeppelin will perform at Wolverley Social Club on Friday May 11, bringing the music of rock giants Led Zeppelin to the stage. Zeppelin fans can experience a riff driven set of hits including favourites Whole Lotta Love, Rock and Roll and seminal rock anthem Stairway to Heaven.

This performance could be the final time Fred Zeppelin take to the Social Club stage.

Drummer Steve Black said: “It's a shame but this could be last time we play this club.

“It's a great live music venue but if the Wolverley project goes ahead there will be no more live bands."

Fred Zeppelin have been endorsed by members of Led Zeppelin throughout their 25 years of performing, with lead singer Robert Plant attending three of their gigs, and drummer John Bonham’s son Jason even jamming with the tribute act on stage.

The band have also received the honour of being invited to a charity event in London by Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page.

A host of notable rock performers have attended the band’s shows, including Roy Wood from Wizard and the Move, Slade’s Jimmy Lea, Magnum’s front-man Bob Catley, and Whitesnake guitarist Mel Galley,

Tickets cost £8 in advance and can be booked online at www.wegottickets.com or at the venue.

Entry on the door is £10.

Doors open at 8pm and the band take to the stage at 9pm.
