A NURSE has hit out at the thoughtless vandals who caused hundreds of pounds of damage to her car while she was collecting equipment from a Pershore surgery.

Community staff nurse Michelle Allen parked outside Abbotswood Medical Centre in Nogains, Pershore to collect equipment for her visits at about 9.30am on Tuesday, April 28.

But when she came out just half an hour later she found someone had left a deep scratch in the driver-side door of her car.

Ms Allen said she had been seriously upset by the vandalism, which she had been told would cost between £400 and £500 to fix.

“Our jobs are hard enough as it without something like this,” she said. “It’s horrible.

“I can’t understand why anyone would do that to anyone but especially not when you’re on duty.

“It’s awful for anybody, but when you’re in your uniform and working it’s worse.”

Ms Allen said she was reminded of the crime every time she got into her car and had become much more wary about where she parks.

“It’s made me really nervous about where I park,” she said. “I won’t park up that road any more.

“I have to park ages away.

“It’s really upset me. My Dad said to me ‘It’s just a car’ and I know it is a car but someone’s done that.

“We go out there and we have really, really busy jobs and this is just another thing that really knocks you back.

“It’s just the cost of it – and I’ll lose my no claims for a year as well.”

She said police had told her someone had been seen circling her car around the time of the incident, but so far had not been able to track down the vandal.
