A ROMANIAN teenager was killed near Holt Heath following a collision between two cars yesterday.

The woman, who was believed to be 19, was pronounced dead after an ambulance was called to Worcester Road, near Top Barn Activity Centre just before 5pm.

She had been working for the activity centre's farm as a picker and packer since June.

West Mercia Police has today refused to confirm any details about the incident other than to say it involved a two-car collision, which left a pedestrian dead.

Alice Harper, who runs the farm, said: "It is such terrible news. She was a lovely, lovely girl and I feel so much for her family in Romania.

"We don't yet know much about the accident but have been told she was getting off the bus that stops just outside the entrance (before the collision).

"It is just so sad and I can't imagine what her family is going through."

Saeed Ahmed, owner of Cottage Store and Post Office, in Holt Heath, said the police closed the road following the accident.

"An employee of mine was working in the shop at the time and said police came in and spent several hours looking through my CCTV footage," he said.

"It is very sad news and very sad for her family."

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said they were called to the road shortly before 5pm, after a report of a two-car collision involving a pedestrian.

He added: "A pedestrian suffered serious injuries and despite the best efforts of the crews to resuscitate her she was sadly confirmed dead at the scene."

Duty Inspector Ian Williams, from West Mercia Police, was unable to confirm today if anyone had been arrested.
