Show us your dazzling talent

TEENAGERS from Wychavon are hoping their dazzling talents will help them win the W Factor.

Auditions for the annual talent contest, which is organised by Wychavon District Council’s arts development team, have been taking place for the past month.

Judges are now deciding who will make the shortlist and perform at the grand final in March. The competition, open to 11 to 18-year-olds, has become hugely popular over the past three years. The aim is to encourage youngsters to be creative and find Worcestershire’s most talented teens.

There are categories for short film and visual arts, as well as dance, drama, music and singing.

Jenny Davis, arts officer for the council, said: “The standard of entries this year is incredibly high. We’re definitely pulling in some very talented youngsters. We’ve got a new category for film this year and we’ve also been going into the more rural villages to hold auditions.”

The W Factor final show will take place at Evesham Arts Centre on Monday, March 22. Winners from each category will then get a chance to perform at Wychavon’s Party in the Park events. Call 01386 565396 or e-mail jenny.davis@wychavon.gov.uk for details.
