Woman driver targeted by brick throwers in Kidderminster

A DRIVER had her windscreen damaged by youths throwing bricks in Kidderminster.

The woman was driving a Saab convertible along Worcester Road at about 3.50pm on Friday, when a brick was thrown from the railway bridge, smashing her windscreen and causing about £200 worth of damage.

She saw two white youths, thought to be aged between 15 and 19. One was wearing a woolly hat. They ran off along the rail tracks in the direction of Birchen Coppice.

PC Sarah Knight said: “We are appealing to anyone that saw the youngsters in the area at the time of the incident to call us, as soon as possible.

“Throwing stones at vehicles is exceptionally dangerous and could injure the occupants of the vehicle or cause the driver to lose control.

“We urge parents to make sure they know where their children are and what they are doing when they are not at home, especially with half-term next week.”

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to call PC Knight at Kidderminster on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident no 0485-S-050210, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.

Well, I hope they fall off the bridge the next time they try. No doubt when they do the story will be about their feckless parents bemoaning the lack of safety railings.
