ECO-FRIENDLY energy advice will be available at Bewdley Harvest Fair.

Wyre Forest District Council has teamed up with local businesses to showcase renewable energy technology and energy efficiency measures, at the Bewdley Museum, on Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26.

Information will be available about the new feed-in tariff, which pays people who install renewable energy systems, such as solar photovoltaic panels, for the electricity produced, as well as saving them money on their energy bills.

There will also be information about the council’s renewable energy grant. Residents and community groups can apply for a grant of up to £1000 towards the cost of installing renewable heating systems, such as solar water heating and ground source heat pumps.

Conservative councillor Marcus Hart, Wyre Forest District Council’s cabinet member for housing and environment, said: “This is a great opportunity to find out more about renewable energy and how it can be installed in homes. Renewable energy systems help cut carbon emissions as well as saving residents money on their fuel bills. The schemes on offer are all part of the council’s commitment to tackling climate change in the Wyre Forest.”

Companies at the event will include Eco2 Solar which supplies and installs solar heating and photovoltaic systems and Ecostoves, which will give help and advice on wood burning and multi-fuel stoves. Gammond/Bosch will have a display truck of heat and air pumps and Marches Energy Trust will provide advice on insulation grants and energy saving bulbs. Energy company E-on will also attend.
