I would like to comment on the letter from the Rev Keith Harris. I know machines have been taking over since the Industrial Revolution, but there are good things and bad things, the good things help people at work and the bad things replace people.

Well, I think I've seen it all now. Firstly I haven't seen any improvement in the traffic around Grange Island since the work was completed.

Your Say Your Halesowen

Every morning whilst walking my child to Huntingtree Primary School, I fear that a child will be injured due to the inconsiderate parking by parents. Huntingtree Road is busy all day, every day, but parents are consistently:- Double parking, causing congestion on the main road. Leaving vehicles parked over areas where the kerb has been dropped, meaning parents with pushchairs are having to walk on the road. Park so close, and actually on the junction of the Longcroft, that it is almost impossible to cross the road safely. Parents also find it necessary to complete u-turns in the junction of The Longcroft, whilst parents and children are trying to cross the road. They also park over the zig zag lines near to the crossing. The school do request parents are considerate with parking and some have no other option but to drive their children to school but most requests fall on deaf ears.  − Worried Huntingtree Road Resident

I haven't seen any improvement in the traffic around Grange Island since the work was completed. The lane markings are terrible on the island, nobody sticks to them and there will be an accident there soon. The island is worse than it ever was before. Do the pavements around it really need to be that wide? We had assumed that there would be more filter lanes to keep the traffic moving easier but instead the lanes are more restricted and congestion is no better than before. I hope that the work to Earls Island hasn't been planned by the same team.  − Nicola Patchett, Halesowen
