Dear Sir,

Further to the recent articles in The Halesowen News regarding the civet, this sheds light on recent damage to mine and neighbouring fences in the Hasbury area.

Damage to the rear fence panels began approximately five weeks ago and continued for about two weeks. Myself and neighbours were left baffled by what was causing the damage, which was occurring during the night. We presumed it must have been caused by a fox or a badger but in over 30 years of living here we have never had such damage caused.

My wife caught a glimpse of the apparent creature one night and couldn't make out of it was a badger or not. It didn't appear have the shape of a badger and was definitely not a fox.

Thanks to your story, both me and my neighbours have an answer to the mystery.

Regards

Barry Thompson
