This year saw the release of a number of new Miller sites in the West of Scotland, two of which contributed to the regeneration of certain areas of

Glasgow.

January saw the launch of Fairways in Riddrie, the first new homes for sale in the area for several years. A mix of 40 two and three-bedroom terraced and semi-detached homes, prices on the development started at #48,000. And homes were sold on a priority purchase scheme to encourage the economic regeneration of the local community.

In September, the company formally launched its Caledonia Gardens development in the Gorbals, part of the Crown Street Regeneration Project. Almost half of the properties on the development were sold before construction began.

More recently, Miller launched two new showhomes in East Kilbride - at Lindsayfield and Kittoch Field. First to arrive was the four-bedroom Braemar at Kittoch Field last month.

The largest villa available at the development, the Braemar, has a lounge, dining room, study, breakfasting kitchen, utility room and cloakroom on the ground floor. Upstairs the four bedrooms have fitted wardrobes with en-suite to the master bedroom.

Only four-bedroom homes remain for sale at the Kittoch Field development, priced from #100,000 to #148,000. Some of the plots are available at reduced prices of #99,950 for a four bedroom house.

Hot on its heels came the opening of the Glenmore showhome at Lindsayfield. A three-bedroom detached villa, the Glenmore is one of the first of its kind in Scotland.

''We've launched a few new sites since July or August this year,'' said Irene Glassey, Miller's sales manager in the West of Scotland. ''As well as crown Street we launched a small development of only 28 homes in Cambuslang, our Parklands development in Crookston and The Steadings at Old Bonhill.

''Parklands is our biggest development in the West of Scotland. At the moment we're releasing 20 of the first phase of 87 homes, but when the entire thing is complete there will be more than 600 homes on the site.''

The showhome at The Steadings is now open, and it joins Kittoch Field, Lindsayfield, as Miller's latest additions to the showhome range. The company expects showhomes at Cambuslang and Parklands to be available by the end of this year.

Attempting to span the entire range of the housing market, houses at Miller's 36 or so developments in Scotland range in price from #38,000 to #148,500. The top end of the scale is something the company hasn't tried in a while, but it plans to rectify that in the next year or so by opening a development of luxury homes - to include five-bedroom, three public room houses - in Paisley next year.

''We have sold high-specification houses in places like Newton Mearns before now,'' said Glassey, ''but it's not a market we've been in for a while.

''We intend to re-establish ourselves at the top end of the market with this development.''

Special incentives to buyers are available in selected developments until the end of November. For further details contact Miller Homes on 0141 303 5678.
