Not all of us would act like our MPs have

This is a reply to the Great Honourable Pure and Self Righteous Tim Weller from Halesowen.

You state that ‘MPs are merely a microcosm of society at large’.

Sorry big word but you’re still stupid and it would appear after, reading the rest of your diatribe, dishonest as well.

You also state ‘MPs are like each of us – a mixture of the good, the bad and the ugly’.

Two out of three isn’t bad but you forgot greedy.

MPs are representative of the voters and should be setting an example not dipping their hands in our pockets.

They get paid an enormous wage but still feel the need to put in false claims for expenses at a time when the country is in an economic crisis.

What is equally annoying are MPs going to the big house and voting on issues that they don’t give a stuff about just to justify their Attendance Allowance.

If it had been any one of us we would be looking at gross misconduct or dismissal and in many of the cases, prosecution.

There is the comment that MPs are so busy reacting to claims that it is taking them away from doing their job effectively.

I am not even going to dignify that with an answer except to say there is no point heading it off by offering titbits.

No one wants new political structures. They want justice.

So Mr Weller, Champion of the MPs: ‘To condemn them we are condemning ourselves’.

You are not going to win any popularity polls with that statement and given the chance I would not be doing the same UNLIKE YOURSELF.

June James, Halesowen
