I am writing to express my disappointment with all three Halesowen North Councillors in general and with Councillor Jeff Hill in particular.

Last year this newspaper published a Councillor Hill penned letter (Us Councillors Could Not Have Done More, News, 16th June 2009) which included derogatory speculation aimed at myself.

I submitted a polite response, also published here (Mystery Of The Missing Landscape Heritage Area, News, 16th July 2009).

The latter included a reasonable and very specific single question posed in return.

Unfortunately none of the three councillors has since had the courtesy to respond to this simple question.

I now therefore offer any or all of the councillors a second opportunity to demonstrate a working knowledge of basic manners by asking the same question once again, this time in a simpler form:- Based on past planning precedent, the single issue far and above most likely to have halted last year’s St Modwen development application for Coombeswood Green Wedge was the fact that all of the area is a council Unitary Development Plan registered HE2 Landscape Heritage Area.

Given that Councillors Karen Shakespeare, Lesley Faulkner and Jeff Hill each wrote an official letter of objection against the St Modwen proposal, and that Councillor Hill also made a five minute spoken presentation of apparent objection to the Dudley Planning Committee responsible for ultimately accepting the proposal in March last year: may I ask once again why none of these three letters nor Councillor Hill’s spoken presentation contained any reference at all to the HE2 Landscape Heritage Area issue which should have provided the most powerful objection argument of all please?
