At a time when we are all being exhorted to leave our cars at home and use public transport, the very bus service we would have to use is withdrawn.
I refer to the 006 bus which is the only route to include the Huntlands estate.
While residents on the Squirrels complain about too many buses, the Huntlands is left with no bus at all.
The Huntlands is an estate with many older residents including several blocks of flats where elderly people without cars depend on the 006 which stopped near their homes.
It may not look far on a map to the Hagley Road but for the less able it is a long way especially with shopping and in inclement weather.
If the service was not making enough profit surely they could have reduced the service to hourly and shortened the route.
This is a much needed service and its loss will cause a great deal of hardship to the elderly.
It has all been done very quickly and quietly without any kind of consultation and with complete disregard for the people who depend on it.
Surely bus companies should not be allowed to take such peremptory action.
After all Ludlows operated it successfully for 20 years.
