The withdrawal of the 006 bus service will affect residents on the Causey Farm estate side of the A456 as it's the only service that allows passengers to reach the other side and to travel to Halesowen without having to cross the main road on foot.
The 417, 244 & 142 do not serve that side of the junction.
To cross on foot is extremely dangerous for pedestrians especially the elderly & infirm.
Although it is dual carriageway and a 40 mph limit applies, this thoroughfare is very busy at the best of times and motorists frequently exceed the limit.
The Huntsland estate no longer has the use of the 006 either.
To the best of my knowledge, there was not any prior publicity or consultation and the first I was aware of its discontinuance was the article in the January 14 edition of your newspaper.
As residents have been prejudiced by its withdrawal, please exert whatever pressure you can on the relevant authorities to reinstate the 006 as soon as possible in view of the hardship incurred particularly for those with disabilities and the elderly. S J Ward, Via email
