Candidate not getting fair mention in paper

I do think that Simon Roberts is being a little unfair with James Morris about the money he has had to pay to get a mention in the columns of our free, democratic Halesowen News.

After all, for some time now, as the long-awaited election approaches, the MP for Rowley Regis has been seen more and more in our free, democratic paper. Letters from Mr Roberts are also provided with such unbiased headers as ‘Talkin’ loud and saying nothing Mr Morris’ to help him out.

As a long time non subscriber to the Halesowen News this appears to be a new trend where such blatant electioneering manifests itself.

Is it down to new ownership or new editorial staff who supports so helpfully the MP for Rowley Regis? Can we have a return to good old-fashioned values in a newspaper such as independence?

As an incumbent MP, Sylvia Heal can also avail herself of the £10,000 a year taxpayer-funded parliamentary 'communication allowance' in order to mailshot householders with what is, to all-intents-and-purp
oses, Labour Party campaign material by another name.
