IF Emma Dean had read the recent article in theHalesowenNews (November17),shewould have known that I fully support disabled access at the memorial in Rowley Regis cemetery.
The concern is about the quality of the platform installed for the Remembrance Sunday Service, paid for by Sandwell Council at the cost of £2,000.
It had to be removed after the event.
When the memorial was renovated at the request of CouncillorBob Price and the Royal British Legion, the War Commission insisted on certain requirements which had to be adhered to as it is a listed building.
It is anticipated that an access, more in keeping with this listed building, will be fitted next year. I would appreciate it if Emma did not try to tarnish my good name.
I deal with many cases for the disabled and disadvantaged.
Cllr Ann Shackleton Cradley Heath
