IHAVE received the Hayley Green and Cradley South Matters newsletter. I see that, on the front page, the Conservative Party is pleased to announce that action is finally being taken to help problem parking at Lutley School.

It mentions that waiting restrictions will be imposed in BrookwillowRoad and Hollybank Road during school hours.

The comment by Hazel Turner that “this should at last bring some order to the chaos...” makes me want to laugh. What do you think people will do with their cars if they are restricted outside the school? They will simply add to the mayhem in Rosemary Road.

It is already chaos on Rosemary Road, with only one car struggling to get through the traffic, gridlock happens frequently.

As this is a main through route for buses and emergency vehicles, it will only be a matter of time before a tragedy occurs all because the emergency services cannot get through in time. The only solution I can see is to make Brookwillow Road a one-way street, and to ban parking altogether in Rosemary Road during school pick-up and drop-off times.

I also think that the grass verge near to the school should be turned into diagonal parking spaces. Iwelcome your comments on this matter, which has been ongoing for more than 20 years.
