Lives made a misery
12:30pm Thursday 26th April 2012 in Letters
THANKS to Dudley Council, my life and hundreds of other people’s are people are being turned upside down in Halesowen.
This is due to the replacement of the gas and water mainswhichbroughtaboutthe closure of one lane of Coombs Road and Gorsty Hill.
The traffic on the downhill side of these roads had to be diverted to carry out the work.
This traffic should have been diverted to Mucklow Hill, whereverylittle signagewould have been necessary I, like others who need to use the 417 to get to Blackheath, now have to go into Halesowen and then change to get to Blackheath, which is a fivemile journey instead of half a mile.
There are now more people than ever using the path up Coombs Road and this is not without risk with the drains overflowingandthe lorries driving down the channel and soaking people. There is no point complaining as it will be a waste of time.
Someone will have to be maimedorkilled, thenperhaps we will hear all the excuses under the sun?
