IWRITE regarding an article on Ian Cooper’s invitation to Councillor Hazel Turner for a debate (News, April 12).
So, Cllr Turner was unimpressed by Mr Cooper’s invitation, saying it would have been better if he had knocked her door and spoke to her about the debate.
Well I find that statement almost laughable, considering neither she nor her husband knocked on any doors in Abbey Road to discuss the erection of scaffolding barriers outside our homes that nobody wants.
It’s just another one ofmany schemes the Turners have had a hand in just to get their names in the news. How anyone can vote for these people?

Not only did Dudley Council conduct it's own consultation about the changes to the road lay-out in Meres Road and Abbey Road - including the hand-rails in question - letter-dropping all the houses affected, but the local ward councillors - Cllr Hazel Turner included - distributed our own flyers advising residents of a public meeting the Council's highways engineers had organised to discuss the new road lay-out, which was held at Caslon School on October 19th last year.
These changes were made in response to residents' previously expressed concerns about accidents and speeding at this location.
Sadly, despite all this publicity, only ONE couple on the estate actually bothered to turn up to the public meeting and offer their views. Alas, that couple was not Mr & Mrs Fellows!
