Diverted drivers in Halesowen need to slow down

Can I appeal to the drivers who have been diverted from Gorsty Hill to Mucklow Hill and left on to Long Lane to please slow down for pedestrians. 90 per cent of the time it is impossible to cross the road at the junction of Greenhill Road as there is no break in the traffic both ways. I am now having to cross half way (with traffic flowing behind and in front of me) and then hope someone will let me through. During which time I do get some irate drivers sounding their horns. I have been in touch with Dudley Council Road Safety Department but have not had any response yet.
I do worry about the schoolchildren who come from Leasowes.
