On August 21, the article on the front page of the Halesowen News was describing a remembrance garden to be placed on Bearmore playing field and refurbishing of Buck Tunnel at the cost of £80,000, funded partly by Sandwell Council.

Councillor Lesley Faulkener is right when she says the decision to close post office branches has already been made, sadly that includes Hasbury Post Office.

I have written to your letters pages on several occasions in the past about the state of the recycling centre in the corner of the car park next to the main Sainsbury's car park in the centre of Blackheath. I wish I'd had my camera with me when I saw it today.

St Modwen apply for outline planning permission so they can hold land until they get a suitable offer as they have done before elsewhere and it could be a housing estate and a lot more than 80 houses and who knows how many cars.

As we look forward with eager anticipation to the culmination of turning Halesowen into a place of excellence and bus depots, can it be that the council is going to surprise us all by providing a similar transformation of the Urban Jungle that is the traffic island at the foot of Hagley Road leading into the town centre.

After reading SJDP's, Halesowen (News, August 14th) response to Jo Carroll’s letter regarding this year’s Startime Summer show, I would question as to what need the person had to send this letter, in fact why bothering attending the show in the first place?
