Need to put Great back into Britain...

I read with interest T Gill's letter (News Jan 31) and I agree with him entirely on the issue of immigrants.

I have just read the EU has halted plans by the PM to kick out thousands of foreign criminals. The PM said that any newcomer to Britain who is caught selling drugs or using guns would be thrown out. But Franco Frattini in charge of justice and security across Europe has said that Brown's plans are illegal because EU citizens have a right to live in any member state. So we not only have our own criminals to deal with, we have been told by the EU that we have to have other countries dreggs. Why?

There has also been a row over the EU's statement that we have to take in more refugees to take the strain off other countries. Why?

We are a tiny island struggling to cope with immigrants flooding here to drain our resources. It is time people like Isacc Street moved into this century.

Forty years ago we did not have street crime with knives and guns. We did not have gangs of youths roaming our streets. Drugs were not sold on every street corner. Immigrants came here came to work and make a life for themselves and their children. They worked hard and earned their right to live here. They brought their children up to be lawyers, doctors, accountants, etc. These children in return contributed to this country.

But times change and laws and peoples' outlooks about how the world is today also change. Laws have been changed to deal with crimes today eg drugs, knives, guns.

Laws also have to be changed to deal with mass immigration. This is not racist or anything to do with Nazis but common sense. It is about protecting our rights and the rights of the earlier immigrants.

Some immigrants still want to come here to work and add to the resources of this country and we welcome them and the skills they bring but a majority do not.

They tell the truth when they say that they are coming here for free medical treatment, free housing, money off the state, as they do not intend to work. We are even giving benefit to people to keep them in luxury, while they are planning to blow us all up.

We are ruled by an unelected bunch of idiots in Brussels. My dad fought and died for the freedom and self-rule of this country and Blair and Brown have given that away.

So you see Mr Street, if I were you I would take off those rose-tinted spectacles and try to see the world as it really is.

It is about time we stopped cowering to all other religions and races and started to be proud and outspoken about our own. It is time that Great was put back in Britain. If a party can do this whether it be the BNP or the Mickey Mouse Fan Club of Great Britain, (if there is one) I am all for it.
