I am extremely grateful for the vote of confidence from the people of the Halesowen South ward who elected me to be their representative in the Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.

I an honoured to be asked to follow Councillor Harold Jackson who for over 20 years upheld the image of the town, and fought to raise its profile amongst the people of Dudley.

I shall take great delight in following his lead and if I can achieve half as much as Harold Jackson did during his term in office, I shall count myself a success.

Halesowen is steeped in history, and I intend fighting to retain all its historical parts and amalgamate them with the exciting new developments that are currently happening to our town.

In particular I will defend the Leasowes and the Abbey ruins, and make certain that any works done there will be to secure their beauty for the people of Halesowen.

My team of helpers delivered my leaflets to everyone's door, without their help I could not get the message across, so I owe a big thank you for their hard work.

None so than John Donegan and Councillor Jennie Dunn who together with advice from Harold Jackson and the other two Councillors John Woodall and Alan Taylor made fighting for this seat so enjoyable and so successful.

Thank you everyone.

Councillor David Vickers, Halesowen South ward
