Take a peek at what the fashion-savvy celebrities wore backstage at this summer's biggest festivals.

Pack away that rain mac and stash those wellington boots, festival season is done and dusted for another year.

Following the muddy end of Bestival on September 7, the summer's biggest music events are over and out for 2008. But forget the rock 'n' roll stage moments, headline acts, and crowd surfing, the real action happened backstage where celebrities hit the high notes in their festival fashions.

From Gok Wan's vintage £3.50 jacket find, to Coleen McLoughlin's designer Chloe gilet, the stars reveal how they put their backstage looks together.

Kate Moss, queen of festival fashion, watch out. Summer 2008 has shown some star performers on the style stage.

:: COLEEN MCLOUGHLIN (V Festival) Working A/W's folk look, Coleen mixes designer pieces with practical wellingtons. But proving she's a girl after our own style hearts, the fashion-savvy WAG still loves her trusty high street staples.

"My top is years old from Anna Sui, the gilet is Chloe, my wellies are Hunter and these black leggings are just from M&S," she reveals.

:: AGYNESS DEYN (T4 On The Beach) We'd be jumping for joy too if we looked like Agyness Deyn. The supermodel goes all rock chick for T4 On The Beach in skinny leather pants, teamed with a checked shirt and her trademark red Converse hi-tops.

:: PIXIE GELDOF (o2 Wireless) Looking Pixie-perfect backstage at o2 Wireless, the cooler Geldof sister highlights her edgy look with a peroxide crop and look-at-me red lips. The Tatler cover girl mixes up designer and high street gear in a Levis dress, vintage leather jacket and Luella boots.

:: JAIME WINSTON (V Festival) This actress proves that dressing down can look super-foxy at festivals. Looking a delight in denim with a flash of punky purple, Jaime confesses the outfit isn't entirely her own: "I borrowed this denim shirt from my mum, my jeans are Sass & Bide and these baseball boots are about 20 years old," she laughs.

:: GABRIELLA CILMI (Glastonbury) Mud? That's not going to stop 16-year-old fashion-mad Gabrielle Cilmi flaunting her labels at Glastonbury. The Sweet About Me singer was given the run of the Dolce & Gabbana store in Milan and this cute D&G tartan bodice dress is just one of her new designer wardrobe additions. Gabriella's also a fan of Vivienne Westwood and Alice McCall, as well as high street stores Topshop and H&M.

:: DAISY LOWE (o2 Wireless) With the sun shining, and her boyfriend Mark Ronson playing on stage, Daisy opts for a super-sweet girly look at o2 Wireless. Striking a pose like only a model can, Daisy wears Parisian brand Fifi Chachnil crop top, angora baby blue cardigan and stripe skirt, teamed with vintage boots. Daisy must have the insider scoop on Fifi Chachnil - the lingerie label has since been launched in Topshop.

:: LISA SNOWDON (V Festival) She's soon to be glitzing it up in sequins on Strictly Come Dancing, but here Lisa's working a more relaxed boho vibe at V Festival. The model and presenter looks divine in a vintage top and Sass & Bide jeans but it's the accessories that give her top scores in the style stakes: Jimmy Choo suede boots, J&M Davison fringed bag and Cavalli shades.

:: HEIDI RANGE (Isle of Wight Festival) A bit of mud on the ground isn't going to stop Heidi working a floor-sweeping tiered floral maxi dress from Warehouse, topped off with a shock pink cardigan.

"I'm quite a girly girl, I don't really do dress-down days with clothes. I kind of have to dress up, that's my look," she says.

:: GOK WAN (T4 On The Beach) Forget nautical chic for T4 On The Beach - stylist extraordinaire Gok shuns traditional red, white and blue and goes back to black.

"I picked this leather jacket up at a charity shop in Edinburgh for £3.50, the pantaloon trousers and vest are womenswear from All Saints and the bag's Vivienne Westwood," says Gok.

Proving he doesn't just customise on his Fashion Fix show, Gok even created his own necklace: "My pendant's got my house keys hanging from it because I'm always losing them!"

:: HENRY HOLLAND (V Festival) This spiky-haired fashion designer may be famous for his women's clothing - Agyness Deyn is his best bud and muse - but Henry shows he can put an outfit together himself. He works catwalk-guy chic in Cheap Monday denim shorts, Giles Deacon for Gap tee, checked shirt, and Dr Marten boots.

:: SARAH HARDING (o2 Wireless) The Girls Aloud star looks simple but stylish in black leggings and a cool long print tee dress. Demonstrating Sarah's no brand snob, she says laughing: "I have absolutely no idea where anything is from. You'll have to check the labels!"

:: DENISE VAN OUTEN (V Festival) Another festival-loving celeb mixing up high street with some serious designer labels. Denise looks playful and chic in this monochrome Topshop all-in-one, but check out that shoulder candy - a siren red Mulberry tote.

:: GET THE LOOK We're just dotty about Sophie Ellis-Bextor's spot print dress. Steal her style at a snip of the price with Boohoo.com's polka dot Georgie dress, £20.

:: BUY IT NOW These Moda In Pelle zip shoeboots have more than a touch of Louboutin about them. Hot foot it now to kick your heels in these Kelvins, £70 (www.modainpelle.com).

FASHION FLASH :: MODEL BEHAVIOUR British supermodel Karen Elson is the face of John Lewis' biggest ever fashion campaign. The flame haired model from Oldham has previously fronted high profile campaigns for Versace, Burberry and Chanel.

"When I told my family I was coming over to the UK for the shoot, they thought it was going to be for a high fashion luxury brand but they were far more impressed when I said it was John Lewis. Mum has shopped there for years," she says.

To view Karen's photo shoot visit www.johnlewis.com from September 15.
