HIP Hop heavyweight Young Jeezy is set to give Midlands music fans a treat next month by appearing in Birmingham.

The Atlanta rapper is bringing his Hustlerz Ambition tour to the O2 Academy on Tuesday, April 24 as part of a world tour which is set to be his biggest yet.

The tour reflects the popularity of Young Jeezy’s latest album TM: 103 Hustlerz Ambition which debuted at 1 on iTunes, sold a massive 233K in its first week out, and earned RIAA gold certification a month ago.

Nearly three years in the making the album’s release date was celebrated with a special, sold-out performance by Jeezy at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City, presented by Def Jam, CTE and New York's home of hip-hop, HOT 97 FM.

The release was Jeezy’s fourth Def Jam/CTE studio album, following gold selling The Recession in September 2008, 2006’s platinum selling The Inspiration and Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation in 2005 which included the worldwide hit single Soul Survivor with Akon.

Born Jay Wayne Jenkins in 1977 Young Jeezy is seen as one of the biggest acts the urban genre and has got up to all the bad boy antics that is expected from the rock stars of our age. He’s written off Lamborghinis, been charged for carrying a concealed weapon (later dropped), and arrested for driving under the influence.

However, none of this have put off his army of fans who love him and his music for being real, not a fake who has kept the ability to keep producing great songs that can resonate with those who have not got his millionaire lifestyles.

And his live performances are about as good as it gets and Birmingham rap fans are in for a night to remember at the O2 Academy on April 24.
