Oldbury indie band Alpine are headlining The Bandquet in Stourbridge later this month.

The four piece outfit only formed last September but are already being tipped to be one of the stand out bands in the West Midlands music scene.

Their performance at the 02 Academy supporting Strangle Kojak in December was their breakthrough moment and earned them the “hot property tag”.

Birmingham band Scarlet Creek are also on the bill at The Bandquet on Sunday, March 25 at the River Rooms, Mill Race Lane, as well as Jack Leverton and Cerys Atchinson.

Alpine teenage line up is Bishan Davies, Marcello Sanzari, Aaron Barnett and Ben Campbell and all are young men in a hurry to make a mark with their Pixiesque sound.

Lead singer and guitarist Bish Davies, aged 16, said: “We are four lads from Oldbury and Bearwood who love playing live and our night at the Stourbridge River Rooms will be no different.

“We are delighted to be headlining The Bandquet as it should be a great night because the other bands on the line up are talented too.”

He added: “We loved supporting Strangle Kojak in December and are determined to break into the local music scene as quickly as we can and then go from there.

“We are determined to put on a great show in Stourbridge because it has a great indie heritage with bands like Neds, The Wonder Stuff and Pop Will Eat Itself so we have a lot to live up to.”

The Bandquet starts at 7pm, tickets cost £6 and for more information about Bandquet at visit Alpine’s Facebook page.
