Brummie prog-rockers putting on free gig this week

Before IO Earth launch the second leg of their UK tour they are putting on an exclusive show at Birmingham's The Jam House, on Wednesday, writes Jeff Oram.
They are natives of Birmingham who have made a massive impact in the world of Prog Rock and beyond. They have gained a big UK following and a fan base all around the world with their unique, new wave progressive sound.
The band was the brainchild of founding members Dave Cureton and Adam Gough. Both childhood school friends from Solihull, who have been playing music together, since those days.
In 2008 they set themselves the challenge to write a truly unique album. While putting it together and recording it, already had Dave's brother on board, playing drums. Then they recruited the rest of the band for the albums release in 2009 and take it out on the road.
The album exploded and was well received by the music press, as well as rock fans alike. It's worth noting as well, the effort and projection of the music in the live shows.
Dave's love the guitar, with Adams adept rhythms and melodies on the keyboards. Clair Malin on vocals putting magic in words to the music. The soulful layers of sax and flute by Luke Shingler. With thudding, funky and melodic bass lines by Christian Nokes. Finally a tight and impressive rhythm section, by Richard Cureton on drums.
Since then they have toured nationally and internationally, with great success. Now regulars in Classic Rock, Prog Rock and Power Play magazines, to name but a few. In 2012 the band released their second album 'Moments', which was eagerly awaited by critics and fans alike. This album again received rave reviews and also noted a progression in the bands music and style.
Sticking true to the genre and being progressive , while remaining a unique sound. So to start off early before the UK tour and for the people of their home city of Birmingham. They have laid on a free gig at The Jam House in Birmingham on Wednesday, on stage at 9pm.
