CAUSEWAY United boss Andy Mole has praised his team's reaction after they bounced back from defeat to progress in the Birmingham Senior Cup.

United lost 3-0 at home to Coleshill last Saturday before claiming a 3-1 extra-time cup win against Alvechurch on Tuesday night."I asked the players for a reaction and that was exactly what I got," said Mole.

"We weren't at full strength but performed really well to get the win. We went away from them in extra time."

A brace fromJoshua March and an Aaron Lloyd strike gave Causeway the victory.

Goalkeeper Tom Turner returned from Tividale and performed well to ensure the game went to extra time.

The only disappointment came when Richard Thomas-Robinson saw red for a second booking when Alvechurch were awarded a late penalty for handball.

Causeway will now return to league action when they travel to take on Kirby Muxlow this Saturday

"Hopefully we can show the same level of performance this weekend," added Mole. "They players that came in did really well and it is tempting to keep a winning side."
