GARY Hackett says he is out to showcase Stourbridge's attacking flair in the final weeks of the season.

The Glassboys face a busy weekend with the visit of promotion-chasing Workington on Saturday before then going head-to-head with rivals Halesowen Town on Easter Monday.

Hackett thinks the remaining six games of the campaign offer his team the perfect opportunity to show their threat in the final third.

"A positive thing for us is that most of the teams we will take on in the run-in all have something to play for," said the boss. "Hopefully it will mean we can go at them and show them what we are all about.

"During my time at the club I have always looked to play exciting, attacking football. I want to produce sides that are exciting to watch and I think the current squad is getting back to that.

"It hasn't really happened for us this season on that front. Being without three key midfielders in Sean Geddes, Ben Billingham or Louis Harris has affected us, but in Chris Lait and Matt Dodd we now have two wingers that can make things happen.

"I want to get the ball to them and really attack teams and finish the season strongly.

The Glassboys' boss is keen to get back into action after last Saturday's game away at league leaders FC United of Manchester was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Monday's derby day clash with the Yeltz will give Stour a chance to leapfrog their rivals as well as giving their fans a much-needed boost after a difficult season.

"Form will go out of the window. Like the fans, everyone at the club is really looking forward to the game," added Hackett.

"The reverse fixture on Boxing Day was a great occasion. Our aim is to put in a good performance for the fans that have stuck by us during a tough time.

"Our first priority, however, is Workington on Saturday. They are up their in the mix and will be looking for the win. That will hopefully play into our hands."

Hackett has a fully fit squad ahead of the weekend double-header. Only Reece Hales will be absent on Saturday as he serves the last game of his suspension.
