LYE Town are set for a busy weekend as they face league leaders Basford United before doing battle with local rivals Causeway United.

They will travel to Basford on Saturday and will welcome Causeway to Stourbridge Road two days later on Easter Monday.

Manager Martin Thomas says there is pressure on his squad during the run-in after already beating many of the top sides in Midland Football League.

"We have already taken three points of Basford and done the double over Coleshill," he said. "It means we can go there with no major expectations.Whatever we do with be a bonus.

"Our aim now is just to win as many games as possible and see where we finish. Either way, it has been a good season.

"I don't think we have overachieved because we have a good team with good players in each position. Our real test will come next season when the opposition know more about us."

Lye had to settle for a frustrating point at home against Rocester last Saturday.

The game at Stourbridge Road ended 0-0 as Town failed to break the deadlock.

"It was just one of those games," said Thomas. "Their goalkeeper played well and made a lot of good saves.

"We did break them down, were the better side but couldn't convert any of our chances.

"We now have to forget about it and look ahead to the weekend."
