GLASSBOYS boss Gary Hackett says he will now be looking to add to his Stourbridge squad from a host of pre-season trialists.

Players will return to the War Memorial Ground a week this Saturday to begin their preparations for another season in the Northern Premier League.

Hackett has arranged for eight players to join the current squad in the hope of winning deals at Amblecote.

He said: "We have arranged to have a good look at about eight players during pre-season. If we can find two or three from that group then we will be in a very strong position.

"That is were my focus will now lie. We will be assessing them in the coming weeks and seeing what they can offer.

"I don't like the term trialist because every one of the players is on trial and has to show something at that stage of the season.

"At the moment I am very happy with the squad we have put together. We are now in a position where we can look to add a few others in the right areas if it's right.

"If we can get better players at the right price then we will.

"We have a number of potential signing coming in for pre-season in a number of different positions. They include young players with potential as well as more experienced players that have featured at a higher level.

"This approach has proven very successful for us in the past and that will hopefully be the case this year."

The Glassboys have already brought in six new faces to Amblecote this summer.

Defenders Dan Scarr, Kristian Green and Stuart Pierpoint, midfielders Tom Tonks and Lee Chilton and goalkeeper Charlie Price have arrived to help form the basis of the 2015/16 squad.

They have been added to 11 members of last season's side that committed to the club.

Chris Knight, Leon Broadhurst, Kayleden Brown, Chris Lait, Matt Dodd, Luke Connolly, Sam Tye, Lewis McPike, Junior Smikle, Lewis Solly and Drew Canavan have all been retained.
