SWIMMERS from Halesowen Swimming Club travelled to Solihull for the first round of the Mercian Summer League on Saturday, April 30.

The team got the 2016 campaign off to a good start coming third overall out of the six teams.

It was the boys that got all of individual wins with Adam Ryan winning the 12 years and under 100m backstroke, Max Rollason in the open 100m backstroke, Jamie Worton in the 12 years and under 50m butterfly and Oliver Bradley-Wood in the 12 years and under 100m freestyle.

The boys 12 years and under relay team were unbeatable, winning both the freestyle and medley relays. The team consisted of Adam Ryan, Joe South, Dermot Cameron, Jamie Worton and Oliver Bradley-Wood. The girls 12 years and under freestyle relay team were also winners, and included Lucy Sadler, Ruby Norgrove, Chloe Everton and Eleanor Stark.

Final point scores were Rugby 202, Cannock Phoenix 194, Halesowen 186, Perry Beeches & SSS 168, Kingsbury Aquarius 164, Walsall 116.
